Hatch Chart for North Georgia

This chart provides you with a general idea of the month to month fly hatches in the rivers and streams of North Georgia and most of the Southeast. Don't be caught in our neck of the woods without some of these in your box. Flies may vary according to stream conditions, altitude, and weather. The term "match the hatch" refers to always staying alert and observing what insects may be hatching. Match your fly as close as you can to any insects you might see. This will encourage more hook ups and make you a better angler. Unlike most hatch charts that provide just a graph with only names and dates, we realize not everyone is a "professional fly fisherman" and provide you with actual images for reference. The trout in North Georgia are heavily fished and are use to seeing the same old patterns day in and day out and some times they do work. But, in order to be consistently productive, and catch the BIG FISH on these bodies of water you have to know when it's time to fish something different... and being different is what we're all about.
